John McArthur advises clients on a variety of state and local tax matters, including multistate litigation, audit defense, and tax policy.

Prior to joining the firm, John attended the New York Law School. During his legal studies, he interned as a law clerk for a full-service law firm and as a summer graduate intern for the New York City Department of Finance. During his time with the city, he worked with the legal collections and tax advocacy units. He then went on to intern as a member of an international tax service group for a global accounting firm. There, he conducted research on the tax laws of various countries to determine the implications for the firm’s clients who held CFCs in foreign jurisdictions. He concluded his legal studies with a mediation clinic in which he became a certified mediator in the state of New York.
